How We Got Started

I’m Pat Lavis, owner of Jubilee Flooring & Refinishing. I chose to work in the flooring industry because I enjoy the craftsmanship. I love working with my hands just as my father and grandfather before me. In 1982 I acquired my builder’s license and started a residential building business. By 2001, hard surface flooring became my specialty and I established Jubilee Flooring & Refinishing. 

Our Services

Hardwood Floor Refinishing

We refinish hardwood using 98% dustless equipment. The finishes are commercial grade, water based, environmentally friendly, more durable than oil based polyurethanes, have UV inhibitors that resists yellowing and are quick drying.

Hardwood Floor Installation / Repair

We install or repair raw or pre-finished hardwood with great attention to detail including proper layout, undercutting door jams and scribing up to stone or existing tile.

Tile Installation

We install tile flooring, countertops, back splashes and create custom showers. Tile is a very durable surface that resists water and is great for high traffic areas. It can be cool in the summer and warm in the winter when installed over an in-floor heat system.

Vinyl Plank and Laminate Floor Installation

We install Vinyl Plank and Laminate Flooring. This type of flooring is considered a floating floor since it is not attached to the subfloor. Proper installation requires preparation of the subfloor and a small amount of space around the perimeter of the room for contraction and expansion. This space prevents buckling and uneven wear, maximizing warranty expectations. There is a wide variety of style and durability available.

We have hired Pat at Jubilee several times for various work and have always been happy with the quality of the work, the timeliness, and the price. He has torn out carpet and installed prefinished hardwood flooring in a living room and a hallway. He has remodeled a kitchen installing cabinets, building a countertop, and installing a sink and faucet. He rebuilt a stairway, installing and finishing oak treads and putting in a tile entry landing. We had a garage that had no door directly into the house. He cut out a part of a wall and built a doorway from garage into the house. This involved altering cabinets on the inside wall. He installed porcelain tile around the perimeter of a large basement room. This past year he tore out carpet and installed prefinished hardwood in our master bedroom and walk-in closet. This he tied in perfectly with existing hardwood flooring outside the bedroom. From what we have seen he is very good at all these things but his very best work is flooring. He is truly a craftsman on floors. He also explains things well and is honest and trustworthy.
